This month we began to search Behance with the term 'dear deer' - a clever play on words if ever there was one. And, surprise surprise, the majority of artworks tagged with this term were also titled as such! Now, we're bringing these dear, deer-themed works to you!

You should also take a look at this photography and video multimedia series 'Oh My Dear!' by Neil Barbisan, featuring a man walking around with a stuffed deer on his back. But take a closer look - there's more to it than that. You can watch the video on the project page or directly on Vimeo.

The use of a stuffed deer's head is the symbol of the relation between nature and human kind in different/opposite cultural contest. Western society shows a solid tradition for the hunt and the deer head as a trophy is the symbol of it however in the native American tradition, rituals and protective aspects are represented by wearing animal parts (fur, bones, horns…).
The action of carrying around the weight of the deer head communicates metaphorically the assumption of both cultures, with no judgements or prejudices but openness of senses, acceptance and understanding.
